Coming to grips with indicator lamps!

Replacing indicator lamp globes can be a sticky business once you know how…

Indicator lamp globes are one of those things that in most cases seem like they were never designed to be replaced by human hands. So small and hard to get out, it’s like some little computerised robotic installed them at the factory and well, you know, how am I supposed to get a grip on this…?

Well, Paul Erby of Caves Beach NSW has given it some thought and has found a way to deal with the little demons. Paul writes:

“I generally select an Allen Key around the same size as the globe and then wind insulation tape (sticky side up) for about 6 turns around it. I then remove the cylinder of tape and push it around the globe until it grips. The globe then removes easily. I also use this method for installing the globes.”

Congratulations Paul. You have just nailed yourself a $250 cheque from the OLEX Cable Guy.
